In Remembrance and Gratitude: Barbara Brownstein (1931-2011)

Dr. Brownstein was a valued friend and supporter of DVSAS. As president of the board from 2003-2007 and a board member until last year, she was a tireless advocate for our cause and for the advancement and empowerment of women of all ages. Temple University, where she served as the University's first Provost, described her as an "internationally recognized geneticist and Distinguished Professor of Emeritus of Biology and Women's Studies." She will be profoundly missed by all whose lives she touched and inspired. Temple University's Memoriam may be read here.
